High on a hill in Spyglass.
This transformative remodel reimagined an aging Spanish Colonial residence as a sophisticated Modern Santa Barbara estate, thoughtfully balancing historic character with contemporary coastal living. MSDG preserved the home's architectural roots while refining its proportions, introducing cleaner lines, larger openings, and a more cohesive relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
The renovation features hand-applied smooth stucco, reclaimed-inspired clay tile roofing, custom wood gates, steel-framed windows, and carefully curated detailing that honors traditional Spanish architecture through a modern lens. Outdoor living areas were enhanced to embrace Newport Beach's climate, creating a seamless connection between the home, landscape, and surrounding community.
The result is a timeless residence that feels both authentic and refreshed, breathing new life into a classic home while elevating it for the way modern families live today.
